Our Response

As the industrial revolution fundamentally changed the world, the digital revolution will be remembered as one that transformed the fabric of conventional business models and society at large.

PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) has been collecting and sharing big data on this dynamic shift that has driven change across governments and public policy; it’s resulted in product innovation, enhanced services and spread new ideals. Although presenting a potential challenge and threat to traditional business models, this change in the landscape also allows businesses with unique opportunities for engagement, to improve efficiency and gain meaningful insights. Those that embrace this opportunity can transform their position and the industry landscape.

Development

One million Australian jobs could be created in the next decade through the development of a thriving innovation ecosystem, requiring investment, incentives and a focus on education. Both business and government have roles to play. PwC has defined priority actions in order to dramatically increase the prospect of economic growth through innovation.

Realizing the powerful information that can be gathered via online channels, we helped PwC harness the insights yielded from data and analytics for both internal and external purposes. These information-rich sources are being used to understand consumer behavior and offer up optimized, contextualized and customized digital experiences.

Working across multiple sectors, over ten publications were developed on topics, ranging from digital economy and social enterprise, to retail revolution and digital disruption. In 2014, we contributed to the the launching of Digital Innovation — a culmination of PwC's analysis and research centered around the future digital impacts on Australia’s economy.
